Epitrol

Indications:
A supplement designed for animals with primary epilepsy.

Dose:
1 capsule per 10-20 pounds twice a day titrated to effect. The dosage is recommended one full tablespoon twice daily for equine patients.

Ingredients:
Gastrodia rhizome, scorpion, silkworm, pinellia root, Acorus gramineus rhizome, arisaema rhizome, bamboo, red tangerine, Gentiana root, scutelleria, uncaria vine, forsythia fruit, gypsum, polygala root, hoelen spirit, typhonium gigantium rhizome, abalone shell

Monitoring:
By physical examination and laboratory testing.

Contraindications:
Do not use in animals sensitive to any ingredients. There is no contraindication known in conjunction with conventional drugs.

Prescribing Information:
Product can be used alone or combined with conventional drugs in a relative low dosage. One can taper down or even wean off the conventional drugs if the patient is already on the conventional medicine. Make sure the patient is seizure free for at least three months before attempt wean medications. Toxicity & reactions are extremely rare. In some extreme cases, herbal supplements may cause vomiting & diarrhea in the first 24-48 hours. Symptoms stop as soon as the herbal supplements discontinued.
