DermGuard

Indications:
A supplement designed for animals suffering from skin conditions due to inhalant and contact allergy. Dermatitis due to atopy.

Dose:
1 capsule per 10 pounds twice a day depending on the severity. The dosage is recommended one full tablespoon twice daily for equine patients. When it is used in conjunction with ImmunoDerm, the dosages can be decreased in half.

Ingredients:
Schizonepeta, siler root, bupleurum, bitter orange, moutan root, platycodon, ligusticum, dahurican angelica root, poria, mint, honeysuckle, scutellaria, cicada, silkworm, licorice root, zaocys.

Monitoring:
By physical examination and laboratory testing.

Contraindications:
Do not use in animals sensitive to any component. There is no contraindication known in conjunction with conventional drugs.

Prescribing Information:
This supplement is not designed for use in food allergies. The best treatment in this case remains avoidance. Be sure to rule out food allergies using a properly performed food trial. It is also important to treat secondary bacterial or fungal infections. There is not any contraindication to using this supplement with antibiotics, shampoos or antifungals. It also can be used in allergic conjunctivitis, inhalant upper respiratory allergy (hay fever), atopic otitis, atopic dermatitis, staph dermatitis, atopic potodermatitis, immune mediated skin disorder, acral lick granulomas, and idiopathic alopecia. Toxicity & reactions are extremely rare. In some extreme cases, herbal supplements may cause vomiting & diarrhea in the first 24-48 hours. Symptoms stop as soon as the herbal supplements discontinued.
