Indications:
Uveitis (bacterial, viral, immune mediated).
Dose:
One capsule per 10-20lbs of body weight twice daily depending on the severity. One full tablespoon twice daily for equine patients.
Ingredients:
Scutellaria, gentiana root, gardenia, red peony, dianthus, schizonepeta, siler, bupleurum, licorice, rhubarb, lonicera flower, rehmannia/raw, dendrobium, ligustrum, vitex fruit, silkworm
Monitoring:
By physical examination and laboratory testing.
Contraindications:
There is no contraindication known in conjunction with conventional drugs.
Prescribing Information:
Initial corticosteroid or NSAID may be needed. Toxicity & reactions are extremely rare. In some extreme cases, herbal supplements may cause diarrhea in the first 24-48 hours. Symptoms stop as soon as the herbal supplements discontinued.
